The English Softhearts
@ Fireside Bowl
Yes! I finally got the chance to see The English Softhearts again since my
departure to, and from, Georgia. What a phenomenal show for these
boys (are we to expect anything less?) As the boys plowed through
their set of oldies and new, soon to be favorites, and a disco version of
"Love You Like Drums", Marc's improvised song "We are Pop,
pop, 70's chart-toppers," was more than appropriate. A
great show, and all had fun! (Historical Note: The final show of
then bassist Kevin Goggin)

Handsome Fellows
@ Fireside Bowl
How the hell did they end up on the roster? We have no idea. Playing
with a number of bands whose lyrics consisted primarily of nonsensical
gibberish, Handsome Fellows made quite an impression with MC Cabbage's
lyrics, music and style. With their debut as a complete ensemble, MC
Cabbage, Eorl, J.Y.D. Huxtable and DJ Casio, the quartet put on an
interesting set for 20 minuets.
Playing in a the audience
of the Fireside Bowl, their choice of course, the bass was strong for all
four hits, the drums fed Cabbage the rhythm he needed to get down,
literally, and with the floor shaking, Casio's turntables never quite
matched up with the song, but we all managed to pull out the scratching
when the samples were lost.
